When you opt to have dental veneers, it is important your needs are assessed and reviewed continually throughout the consultation and fitting process. Our staff are extremely informative and will be happy to provide you with as much information as possible about the treatment.

What Are Dental Veneers?

Dental veneers are attractive tooth replacements usually made from porcelain or composite. They are shaped with laser precision and used to replace the enamel of patients’ teeth which may be damaged or discoloured, or to close up a gap in the teeth. It may also be the case that a person simply wants a perfect smile even though their teeth are in good condition.

The speed in which veneers can be fitted depends on the material the veneers are made from. If you opt for composite veneers they can be moulded and fitted whilst you are in the studio, or if you want a more precise and measured set designed offsite in our laboratory we can arrange that as well.

If you opt for porcelain veneers they will need to be designed and created offsite at our laboratory before being fitted at a future appointment.

Porcelain dental veneers are a hardwearing, practical and aesthetically pleasing option for patients looking to drastically improve the appearance of their teeth, or restore teeth which may be chipped, damaged or discoloured.

Before and after dental veneers

The Process

When you come in for a consultation about having porcelain veneers fitted, we will firstly have a chat with you about your requirements and desired results, as well as answering any questions you may have. After your initial consultation the dentist will take various teeth and gum measurements, x-rays and document how your teeth look now. The photos are taken to enable you to look at your 'before and after' photographs at the end and see how incredible the difference is between your old smile and your new one. Taking precise measurements and details enables us to ensure your porcelain veneers are designed to your exact specifications.

Once your veneers have been designed in full, created at our offsite laboratory and returned to our dental studio, we will prepare your teeth to ensure the fitting is as accurate and secure as possible.

Preparing the teeth involves removing enamel from the front of the teeth equivalent to the size of the veneers being fitted. The dentist will then clean and etch the teeth to ensure the veneers can be fitted perfectly.

Preparing the teeth in this way ensures that your bespoke set of veneers will look natural and beautiful and will be securely bonded to your teeth so that you can be smiling with confidence for a long time.

Composite/ Porcelain Veneers

Porcelain veneers last between 5-10 years if they are cared for properly, which means they are much more durable and long lasting in comparison to composite veneers. With the continued advice, support and maintenance from our dedicated cosmetic dental team, we can help you ensure your veneers remain looking and feeling good for as long as possible.
